My last dishwasher basket was purchased ten years ago and even though some of the plastic covering has worn off where the metal that was exposed had rusted, I was loathe to throw it out as I couldn't find one to replace it for many years, so when I did a search one day and this showed up on Amazon, I immediately ordered it.
It is a solid basket, the lid clips down securely and is the perfect size for the dishwasher. I use it for all sorts of small things, lids, small spoons and as I do canning, it is perfect thing to hold the two piece canning seals and lids.
Time will tell if the plastic comes off and the metal will rust, but from my impression of the quality, this basket will last for many years before I have to worry about that.
