I have owned three of these units for several years.
Two of them are in my unheated detached garage and one is in my basement.
I have used one for garden/lawn storage such a fertilizer, bug sprays, yard waste bags, plastic bags,
pails, tarps, extension cords, lawn sprinklers, coolers and assorted sports equipment for the grandkids.
The second one has been used for automotive related items such as our waterproof cartop carrier,
antifreeze, oil, windshield washer fluid, winter gloves, ice scrapers, snow brushes, - well, you get my drift.
The third one is in the basement storing my Marine Corps gear and I have been very satisfied with it.
I have had absolutely no problem with using them in the garage or the basement.
They are in the same shape as when I received them.
Do keep in mind that these are not air-tight cabinets. If you need that type of storage unit look elsewhere.
Along with using the HyLoft 45-by-45-Inch Overhead Storage System #00540 my garage is MUCH MORE organized and I am MUCH LESS frustrated trying to find exactly what I need! I would recommend buying the cabinet for the uses as stated above. ~ The Boss

The item arrived in perfect condition with all of its parts. Great Box! It traveled from Indianapolis, IN thru Resistencia, AR, on its way to Chicago, IL. Not sure what that was all about. My wife likes the extra storage and says its "quite sturdy". Assembly was somewhat like working a giant rubiks cube but with a happier ending. The instructions were printed on the back of the box. Great idea! But forget the advertised 15 minute assembly. A rubber mallet is essential and so is a bit of dexterity and patience. Hint: Use the mallet sparingly until the parts are properly aligned. This part was a bit of a challenge for me. No parts were left over, though. It was very easy to tell if something was missing. Also it is slightly larger than the advertised 72 inches tall; so it didn't fit where I wanted it. Tight space, but we found a good place for it, and I highly recommend this cabinet. Would not recommend this for combustible materials, though. The shelves offer adequate space for larger items. There are certainly less expensive units out there but this one is built like a tank and isn't very heavy either. It's perfect for indoor storage in your garage or basement or even outdoors if exposure to the elements is not a concern.Customer Review: Slick unit

Mine finally was delivered.....but the package didnt have instructions inside. Thank goodness the box it came in had icons photos of how to do it. The panels are marked so you just follow the alphabet...A, B, F, G.....etc. I'm a woman, so If I can put it together, anyone can. I did used a rubber mallet which they suggested, and is an absolute MUST when putting it together. If you dont pound in the supports far enough into the slots, your doors wont fit right. Dont try doing it by hand force alone. I think that's why others didnt give the unit more stars. This thing is sturdy and heavy ( 69 pounds, and wont scratch up my laminate or hardwood floors.
I'm very pleased with the functionality of this unit, and will buy a few more for my garage area. It will never rot, mildew, rust, splinter,warp,be eaten by ants, or absorbe grease, paint, stain, dirt, water or grime. Can be locked and left outdoors on or by docks, garages, sheds, patios,....you name it. Everyone knows Rubbermaid. You cant go wrong with this unit

I thank Rubbermaid has always had very nice products, but to me the Rubbermaid 72 inch four-shelf double door cabinet is the best item I have every purchased for storage. After receiving my first cabinet from Amazon and was able to put it together in no time, I gave my other storage units away and ordered more. Today I have 3 of them and they look as good today as when I first purchased them. They are easy to keep clean and are very tough. These cabinets are so durable and hold heavy items on the shelves and I am always trying to find other items in the house to store in the cabinets. I have all of my tools, Christmas items and many household items in them. Now when you go into my basement it is very organized and I can go and get a tool without having to try to find them. I highly recommend this product for its durability, easy assembly and capacity it holds. I will definitely be buying more. We ordered two 72-inch 4-shelf Rubbermaid storage cabinets. The cabinets come in panel sections with simple instructions and they just snap together. They are made of heavy-duty plastic and they look great along the back wall of our garage. While Rubbermaid costs more than Sterlite or Workforce, the actual weight of the Rubbermaid product is double the weight of the others which will add to the durability and life of the Rubbermaid product. We purchased the cabinets through Amazon.com and are extremely happy with the fast shipping and great customer service. The product arrived in tact with no issues. We will definitely order through Amazon.com again. We give these products an A+++ rating!
