Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rubbermaid 4D06 Configurations 23-Inch Foldable Laundry Hamper, NaturalCustomer Review: Just right Summary: 5 Stars
These hampers are perfect. They are neutral coloured, so they practically disappear in my walk-in closet. They hold plenty of clothes, but not so much that they are too heavy to lug around. They have two handles that are easy to grip. The exterior is made of fabric while the interior has sort of a nylon/plastic feel to it, to repel sweat and yuck- it's easy to clean with a towel and some spray. But best of all, they collapse flat. I have a loft and the closet has no door. So if I'm having company over I can simply fold up the empty hampers and hide them behind the dresser. This hide-away capability doesn't sacrifice sturdiness, though, as these bins are tough.
At such a cheap price I bought two and set them side-by-side, one for colours, one for whites. If you have a larger family, you could easily purchase one of these for each family member's room or simply create a "bank" of them in the laundry room.
Overall this is a fantastic product at a great price!
Customer Review: Sturdy hamper Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered two of these hampers, one for each of my kid's rooms. I love how sturdy these hampers are. While they are a little heavier than the mesh ones I had been using, the construction on these will go the distance. I like that the inside of the hamper is water-resistant. (It might be considered waterproof, but I don't remember for sure and I don't want to give false information.) I have put used towels in it, and I am not concerned about mold or mildew. Of course, I live in the high desert, so those two things are not normally present here. The hamper itself holds one load of laundry for my high-capacity front load washing machine. I do have the carry the full laundry basket downstairs and through the house, but it is not too cumbersome. And it is definitely light enough for my 4 year old to carry it back upstairs. I would recommend this hamper to anyone with kids or if he/she was looking for a good hamper. I even like the colors.
Customer Review: Quality + Convenience + Cost = A+ for Rubbermaid Summary: 5 Stars
This was a great find! A hamper that holds a full load, wipes out easily, and folds flat for storage. I paid $13 on Amazon, but found it cheaper at a local store for $8 after I placed my order.
This item placed in a bathroom for towels would be perfect, as it has a nylon liner that would resist mildew and can be sprayed with Lysol and/or wiped out with disinfecting wipes. I could also see carrying one in your car for multiple uses such as carrying the kids' sports gear, taking cans to the recycler's, winter road trip supplies, or carrying several bags of groceries in from the car after a trip to the market.
The product seems sturdy, but I'd not put more than 25-30 pounds max in it as the whole container is made of canvas.
Narrow enough to use in tight spaces, but also tall enough to have good capacity. I will be buying more of these foldable laundry hampers and suggest you buy them too!
Customer Review: Exactly what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
I had to look long and hard to find a hamper that suited my needs -- something that fit in the hallway nook outside my miniscule apartment bathroom, that looked good given its public location (no bags or baskets please), that had at least two compartments so I could pre-sort cold and warm wash laundry, and that was easy to handle.
I almost got all my wishes -- enough to warrant giving this 5 stars. I bought two of these and they fit perfectly in the space I had. I could have cried I was so happy. The fact this option is so comparatively cheap compared to the wheelie, metal-frame, canvas-bag hamper I'd purchased from Target -- and which collapsed under the weight of my laundry -- is a plus.
The one thing I've wished for is a way to cover the bins given their public location in a hallway instead of a closet for which they were apparently designed. Any ideas?
Customer Review: bought one, then three more Summary: 5 Stars
my apartment has exactly one place to collect laundry, a closet with pantry shelves to each side of a 28" door. the space on the floor used to be a little tight for the standard plastic laundry basket (you know the kind). i got one of these rubbermaid contraptions a few months ago and now have room to spare in an otherwise tight closet.
the look of the container is clean and the vinyl interior looks durable enough to last longer than the baskets i have been toting around for years. i bought three for my daughter so she will never have to sort laundry again. and now i am looking at the other Configurations storage containers to see if they can help me in other closets.
i would expect to see a product line like this one winning design awards or being featured in magazines like Dwell. this stuff is that good.
