Customer Review: Much Better Than Expected

I bought two Deluxe Custom Closet Kits, one for each side of my closet. Because my house was built in 1908 and had many remodels over the years, it was not an easy matter to find studs and the walls in the closet were made of various substances, installation was a lengthy process. My tool situation is pretty pathetic so I had to borrow a drill, which added time, and, since the closet was empty, I decided to paint the closet (a beautiful lavender blue). Once all the preparation was done, installation was straight forward. The instructions were good and the hardware was complete and well-made. All told, it took about 12 hours and two people to put up, not because of the product itself, but because of the awkward shape of the closet, the preparation that I did, and the fact that I'm vertically challenged. I really like the industrial look and my closet is much more useful and attractive than before. I would recommend this sytem to anyone thinking of increasing storage in his closetCustomer Review: Finally someone got it right!

Alright over the past several years I have paid various closet companies to put professional organizers in a few of our homes. In the past I probably have spent in total approx. $15,000 with these companies. Recently I wanted a walk in closet in our new house done but I knew that this summer we were going to remodel and knock this closet completely out to expand for a master retreat. Not wanting to spend $3000 or more on a professional closet only to see it torn down and thrown away in a few months I decided hey this is a cheap system it will do for a few months and it even looks easy to install. To my shock it came and it was awesome. It took (3) 3-6 ft systems and (1) 4-8ft system to do this closet. I also ordered, belt racks, canvas bins and wire drawers. Less then $600 to totally pimp out a huge walkin closet yippy!!! Good bye closet companies hello idiot proof installation and versatility for cheap. I love ya Rubbermaid! We have two boys ages 3.5 and 5 who share a room. The old closet rod and one shelf plus a beat up dresser worked okay when they were infants. Now they need to be able to choose their own clothes and be able to reach them. We also have a 5 foot closet with sliding doors - so we needed something that had a low hanging bar and a shelf that kids could reach along with shelves for storage on the top. We mounted the large hanging bar about two feet from the bottom and the 5' continuous shelf on the top. In the middle of the closet was the 10" gap between the shelving units. We bought some bins and a hanging organizer for their shoes. We have been able to store 2/3 more stuff in our closet than before and iit looks much nicer. We can also move the hanging bar up higher as the kids grow as well as adding pants racks - when their pants do not fit in bins any longer. We are planning on using this system in our HUGE walk in closet in the master bedroom.Customer Review: It Works

The closet has been an on again and off again thought for awhile. We would start looking and there were some beautiful systems, but the price and how the systems were put together (seemed like it would be more permanent) caused a to hold off. Not that the things were bad, but mmore so that we were not sure what we really wanted and were even looking at full built in systems.
We picked this up along with a couple of other Rubbermaid organizers because the price was low enough that they would work as short term solutions until we settle in on what we would like a bit more. This was perfect. It is relatively easy to put together, flexible in how you can do it and rearrage things and does the job of getting the closet under control so we do not feel rushed having to finalize the closest.
For the price it is fine and if it tides you over for a bit of time, a well worthwhile purchase.

This system was easy to install for my husband and I. This is the second closet we've done (2 more to go). Here's what we did: We pulled out existing rod, shelf, and all supports. Then, filled all holes and imperfections in the drywall. Sanded and painted. Using a stud finder w/level, and sturdy anchors/screws (not the ones provided), installed the header and verticals. Now have fun with all the options! Tip: determining your layout first will ensure that you have all the pieces necessary to complete your design (we needed additional extenders/verticals and rod for 1 closet, but because we ordered multiple 4-8' deluxe systems for other closets, we robbed from another box. Not all closets will utilize every item in the box). For a 10' reach-in closet, we used 3- 48" shelves; 5 rods; 7- 26" shelves; 1 large slide-out basket; 4- 25" extender verticals w/clips. Love this product -- love the price.
