Customer Review: Useful if you plan to store clothing... otherwise...

I have four of these "chests". When I purchased them I thought that I was purchasing a soft sided container with a cedar panel insert which would give the canvas a firm side, boy was I disappointed when I discovered that the insert is only about 2.5 inches long and 1.5 inches high, and about a 1/4 inch thick!
Because the sides of these containers are SO flimsy and soft they are not good for stacking in any way. Furthermore they are not great for CARRYING, because they bend and sag. Very unfortunate.
I have kept them, however, and use them for off season storage of children's clothing. I basically just have a heap of them in the corner of the room (if I had a closet they'd be "stacked" in there.)
The zipper is nice enough that I don't worry about it breaking anytime soon, and the canvas seems sturdy enough to withstand years of use. In fact I have already been using them constantly for a little less than three years.
For the price, its a pretty good deal. Much nicer looking and smelling than the hard sided plastic stuff. They also fold up nice and small if I don't need to put anything in them and would rather store THEM.
Just go in knowing what it is, and then you will most likely be more satisfied than I was.

I don't have the "Configurations System". I was just looking for storage. I find these very flimsy. The canvas is not a fine weave so it will be a big dust gatherer withouth being able to really clean it. Haven't used because I need to cut a cardboard/wood an insert for the bottom to make sturdy enough to carry without collaspsing, or I will need to buy two of 22 gal rubbermaid inserts because I bought 2 boxes. I think I prefer the bags that you suck air out of. If you require the look..ok, but for storage it's not really what I hoped.Customer Review: It's Okay

I used to store my winter clothes and put in the closet. I usually use storage bins, But works fine too. Not too sturdy soft canvass material.
I am happier with the storage bins.

I purchased this product as a gift for someone and the intention was for carrying the organizer and not just storage. While its a great storage product and if that is why you are purchasing it, it's great. It looks nice and will match any decor but for anything other than sitting somewhere in your house, it doesn't hold up. The bottom and top material are super flimsy and when you carry it, you can't carry it by the handles, you have to carry it underneath so it doesn't collapse. This product is good for storage but unfortunately it didn't hold up for my purposes.Customer Review: Okay, but nothing to get excited about

It's an adequate piece for basic storage, but not as protective as I expected. There is no moisture barrier, so this is strictly for dry areas. And the cedar inserts are teensy-weensy, too small, I think, to have any deterrent effect. I didn't smell any cedar aroma at all. The only upside is it's collapsible when not in use. I'll use it, but I won't be buying any more like this. Other pieces in the same series are a much better value, which is why I bought this one. Recommend only for clean, dry storage use.
