Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rubbermaid 1292-AR-BISQU Sink MatCustomer Review: didn't stay white Summary: 3 Stars
I thought this was working better than the clear plastic that always turns orange, but this one eventually got very stained and a little stiff - so still looking for something that doesn't stain.
Customer Review: PURE JUNK Summary: 1 Stars
If I could give these a ZERO I would. I won't waste time again typing out why, but you can read what I sent to Rubbermaid;
I am a life long customer of Rubbermaid, where the sink mats are concerned. I also own many larger Rubbermaid items in my home as well. I have bought many of their sink mats in the past, however, this last time when I bought them, they were substantially changed. Gone is the thick rubber, and the weight of the older mats. The old mats were easier to keep clean as well. Now, the new mats are very thin, so thin in fact, that you can see light through them. They also stain easily, and are VERY hard to get clean, as in several bleachings, they don't stay put, and warp out of shape in the first few days of use. I could give a rats--- about the microban element, because I think it's bogus anyway. I guess if this is the quality that Rubbermaid wants to leave me with, I guess I will leave Rubbermaid without looking back. Very disappointed in the quality of these new mats. Or lack thereof. I will have to look for something else. I don't understand why companies always think it's about money. I would have paid triple for the OLD style mats, but now, I have to find something else, which means these were a waste of money. I don't mind paying more for good quality items, but I HATE wasting money on junk.
Customer Review: Very disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
I've been using Rubbermaid mats for years. It took me forever to find this color again, since I couldn't find it in any of my local stores. The one it replaced had been in my sink for at least 5 years and was finally falling apart.
So imagine my surprise when this new one not only stained from tomato sauce two days later (the old one never did that), but it also buckled within a week! Now I have a three week old mat in my sink that is stained and warped!! I've already bleached it twice, which seems to help the staining problem, but the buckle is driving me crazy.
I'm really disappointed. I came back here hoping that I had accidentally purchased a knock-off product. It seems that Rubbermaid products used to be great, but maybe their quality has finally gone downhill.
